By Dana Grey SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News)- Governor Cuomo says that the limousine that crashed and killed 20 Saturday evening in Schoharie should never have been allowed on the road.

He said that the vehicle was inspected just last month by the state’s transportation department and failed that it inspection.

On top of that, the driver did not have the appropriate license to operate the limo and that the stretch had been rebuilt in a manner that violated the federal law.

Prestige Limousine has yet to pick up any phone calls today and provide answers.


Meanwhile, today marks Columbus Day in Central New York but some are calling for a different name.

Mayor Ben Walsh has called for a change in past years though has not shown action yet. The Onondaga Nation has been repeatedly present in the push to rename the holiday to “Indigenous People’s Day.”
