Beak & Skiff co-owner dies at 93

Marshall Skiff was born in Syracuse and lived in Skaneateles. Skiff was known for his  dedication to his gardens. He loved growing things, especially apples

Not only was he the co-owner of one of the #1 apple orchard in the country, but he was an original member of The Western New York Apple Growers Association.

Skiff was a hero too; an Army veteran of World War II. He lived a full life.

He was known for his energy and involvement– including being a member of the Skaneateles Ski Club. Marshall Skiff and his wife, Joan, were downhill ski racers competing in local, Eastern, National and International events for over 40 years.

Marshall Skiff was a third generation owner of Beak & Skiff. The company started in 1911 and the business has evolved over the years to be one of the best known brands and attractions in upstate New York.

Marshall Skiff is survived by his four daughters, eleven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be on Friday October, 5th at 10am at the First Presbyterian Church, Skaneateles. Marshall Skiff will be buried in Lakeview cemetery.
