By Charlie DiSturco, SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) — It’s not everyday a child actor from central New York lands a gig on a national network. Today, that becomes the reality for an 8-year-old Fayetteville resident, who’s set to star on ABC’s new sitcom “Single Parents.”

This isn’t the first television appearance Tyler Wladis has made, however. He appeared on FOX’s televised musical “A Christmas Story Live!” in December 2017.

Though Wladis has had a few other gigs over the last few years, “Single Parents” will be his first series.

The comedy-based show follows the life of multiple single parents who lean on each other to ensure they have a life outside of parenthood.

Wladis will be taking on the role of 7-year-old Graham D’Amato, and told Syracuse.com his character is super attached to his mom, Angie. Angie will be played by Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester.

The show premieres tonight at 9:30 p.m.
