Accusers See Justice as Bill Cosby is Taken to Prison

By Rashika Jaipuriar, SYRACUSE, NY (NCC News) – Victims of Bill Cosby can finally say their abuser is behind bars. On September 25, after facing dozens of accusers and a tumultuous trial, Cosby was sentenced to three to ten years in state prison for drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand 14 years ago.

In a five-page ‘impact statement,’ Constand wrote, “Bill Cosby took my beautiful, healthy young spirit and crushed it. He robbed me of my health and vitality, my open nature and my trust in myself and others.”

Cosby was denied bail and is now classified as a “sexually violent predator.” Cosby’s lawyers plan to file an appeal.
