Apple Announced New iPhones and Apple Watch 4 at its September Launch Event

By Josh Radler  CUPERTINO, CALIFORNIA  (NCC NEWS) — At today’s September Launch Event, Apple announced its two new iPhones.  This year’s phones, the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and the iPhone XR build off last year’s big release of the iPhone X. The XS builds off the iPhone X. The XS has a bigger battery and a better camera than its predecessor. The XS Max is the larger version of the XS. Its screen is measured at 6.5 inches; .7 inches larger than the XS. The XS and XS Max will be selling for $999 and $1,099 respectively.  The third iPhone, the XR, is the replacement for the iPhone 8. It will be cheaper than the XS and XS Max at $750.

In addition to the three versions of the iPhone, Apple also announced the 4th installment of its Apple Watch.  The device has a bigger display and faster processor than the last version. One of the most notable new additions to the phone is fall detection, which can detect if the person wearing the watch has fallen or been hurt. The watch will sell for $399 or $499 with cellular included. Preorders for the iPhone XS and XS Max begin September 14th. They go on sale on September 21st. Preorders for the XR begin October 19, with the phone going on sale Oct. 26. Like the XS and XS Max, preorders for the Apple Watch 4 begin September 14.
