T-C-G-player, a card game distribution company has created a new program called “Safe Place to Game.” This program aims to introduce card games Central New Yorker’s, while at the same time creating an opportunity for kids to get on the right path.
Kacey Keel uses the “Safe Place to Game” program to create an atmosphere for kids to have fun playing games, while staying out of trouble at the same time. Keel believes it is important for businesses like TCGplayer get involved in the community.
According to Keel, giving kids something to do during the summer or after school will make it less likely they in trouble or involved in a bad situation. This program allows TCGplayer to protect kids without them even knowing it.
The “Safe Place to Game” program allows TCGplayer employees to travel to libraries and hospitals throughout Syracuse, to teach people how to play card games like Magic the Gathering, Pokémon, and Yu-Gi-Oh!
“Everybody who works for T-C-G-player has played one of these games at some point in their life and been really passionate about it, or still do play it. So we want to spread that passion and love for these games,” Keel said.
Playing trading card games is not the most popular hobby, and this program creates a judgment free zone for anyone interested in playing. Participating in these games can be a great way to make friends, learn social skills, and have fun along the way.
T-C-G-player is expanding its store located in the Galleries of Syracuse, and expects to hire more than two hundred employees over the next few years. TCGplayer was founded in Syracuse, New York, and according to Keel the company wants to help the city as much as possible.
