By Dominick Muccilo, SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) — The Syracuse Chiefs’ season is winding down, but that doesn’t mean fun at the ballpark has to end. “Brew Fest” is coming to NBT Bank Stadium for the 4th consecutive year.
The event will take place at 3 P.M. on Saturday, September 29th, three weeks after the Chiefs’ season ends. Katie Berger, the Director of Business Operations for the Syracuse Chiefs, says there’s no shortage of options of beers to choose from.
“We’re partnering with Now and Later Bottle Shop and Tap Room, so Jason Purdy there has great connections with breweries around the Northeast,” she said. “We hope to get some new, different, unique beers at the festival this year.”
The Now and Later Bottle Shop opened up in the right-field corner of NBT Bank Stadium in 2015. At Brew Fest, they will offer a selection of more than 100 craft beers for guests to choose from.
In addition to beer, Berger says a cigar and wine porch will also be open in the Stadium.
“We have the Rockies cigar party deck, it’s a cigar lounge—they come, they bring samples. In the past we’ve done spirts too,” she said. “We’ve got some more things brewing, no pun intended.”
Guests at the event can also take their talents down to the field, where they can take ten swings in batting practice.
“Everybody thinks they can hit a home run after a couple hours of beer tasting, so its fun to watch,” Berger said.
