By Casey Buscher SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) – Taking care of your skin during the summer will help keep away breakouts and oily skin.
Summertime has the potential to bring everything from sunburns to oily skin to dry patches if people don’t take care of their skin consistently.

The heat and humidity usually leads to an oily face. During a hot summer in Syracuse, breakouts and oily skin are on the rise.

According to Selena Anchina, the Clinique counter manager at Ulta in Syracuse, it is important to wear the moisturizers, foundations and products that fit the type of skin that you have.

“Everyone’s face is so different and everybody’s skin is so different. So you can be super dry, normal, oily, so you just want to make sure that you’re getting the best face wash and the best moisturizer that is going to be best for you.”

Anchina says wearing good make up from respectable companies is important. While most people believe that heat and sweating during the summer causes breakouts, she believes that if you’re on top of cleansing and exfoliating daily, your face should be clean.

“As long as you’re taking good care of your skin, you shouldn’t have a lot of issues. you could have the best make up in the world but if you don’t have good skin care it will reflect.”

The counter manager says she has a daily cleansing routine for her face everyday. The routine brings hydration, color correction and exfoliation to her face.

Heading into the second half of the summer, Anchina believes people should be extra careful when it comes to wearing makeup and taking care of their skin.
