Chiefs Home Opener Transcript

By Luc Sigaud SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) The Syracuse Chiefs welcome the Norfolk Tides in the 2018 home opener on Thursday. NBT Bank Stadium can house more than 11,000 fans and the Chiefs intend on filling up every single seat.

One way the organization is trying to draw people in is by maintaining constant ticket prices. Tickets for adults in premium seating have stayed at $13, and child tickets are $2 less expensive. Flex packages will be $100 for the season; a flex package includes 10 tickets that can be used at any point during the season.

The ballpark on Tex Simone Drive might be the closest baseball stadium for some Central New Yorkers, but other teams in the area stack up similarly when it comes to pricing.

The Rochester Red Wings, top minor league affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, charge $12 for their own premium seats at Frontier. Box seat prices are also similar. the Red Wings charge $10.50 for an upper box seat, compared to $11 for the Chiefs.

Closer to Syracuse, the Binghamton Rumble Ponies have the least expensive grandstand seat. The New York Mets’ Double-A affiliate and current team of Tim Tebow charge $9 for their most basic type of seat.

The minor league team closest to Syracuse other than the Chiefs is the Auburn Doubledays, a Single-A Affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays. Their season doesn’t start until the middle of June.
