By: Alec Posner SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC NEWS)- Despite last night’s loss against the North Carolina Tar Heels, Coach Jim Boeheim is proud of his team, especially because they are so young.
“At the end of the day, we’re playing four freshman in the front line and one junior who has never played a full season. To do what they’ve done, these front line guys, I can’t say enough about what they’ve done this year. How they’ve played, how they’ve competed,” Boehiem said.
Prior to entering the ACC tournament, the Orange was on the bubble. However, with their loss last night, WAER announcer Jake Marsh thinks Syracuse fans should be concerned.
“So after the win against Wake Forest and losing against UNC, you do what a lot of fans wanted: you break the 20 win mark. But you only have one ranked win in Clemson, so it’s going to be another one of those years where you’re sitting at the edge of your seat if you’re a Syracuse fan and wonder, ‘Is this team going to make it?’ Now, of course you want them to, but their resume isn’t that hot. The question is, is it hotter than the other bubble teams, and that we’ll just have to wait and see,” Marsh stated.
Syracuse’s standing in the NCAA tournament is still up in the air, so now it is just a waiting game.
