By Adam Unger AUBURN, N.Y. (NCC News) – The current ownership of the Fingerlakes Mall and its “local business initiative” could be on its way out of Central New York. The mall is up for sale on a pair of real estate websites (here and here) with a $7 million price tag.
At least 10 local businesses have opened in the Fingerlakes Mall since its local business initiative began in January 2016. Some of the other business include:
- BB’s Pizza Express
- Bradford Heights Delights
- Heaven Sent Creations
- Infinity Healing and Instruction
- It Works
- Powers Images
- Seasons Under Glass
- Showtime Sportscards
- Teddy Mountain
- Tunison’s Treasures
Dominick’s Grille became a part of that initiative in August 2016, and co-owners Eric Sidor and Dale Cuddeback opened the restaurant in the mall’s food court at an optimal time.
“We signed the lease and then we opened up [in the] next couple days. We tried to open up for the State Fair… there’s a lot of people here for that, so we opened up as soon as we could,” Sidor said.
Despite the smooth start for Dominick’s Grille, now there’s uncertainty among the business owners and their customers. The leases that local businesses have signed prevent them from talking about the sale.
“We have no comment at this time,” Cuddeback said. Cuddeback met with the mall’s ownership on Monday morning, but he was unavailable to comment due to personal matters.
As of Monday night, there isn’t any indication of a potential buyer for the Fingerlakes Mall.
