By Regan Spencer BROOKLYN, N.Y. (NCC News) – The ACC tournament run is over for the Orange after a 62-57 loss to Miami at the Barclays Center. ‘Cuse will now wait until Selection Sunday to see if they are making an NCAA Tournament appearance.

The Orange started with a strong performance, going on a 4-0 run in their first two possessions. After this however, they played catchup until midway through the second half.

Going into the final media timeout of the game, Syracuse trailed by only 3 points. They continued to stay with Miami, and cut the lead to 57-55 with just under forty seconds left.  John Gillon had the chance to tie it with a 3-pointer, but unlike his shot against Duke, this one didn’t land.  That was the Orange’s final scoring chance. Both teams scored in their last few possessions to bring the final score to 62-57.

Andrew White III put up a strong second-half performance, leading the team with 22 points.  Tyler Lydon lead in rebounds, and Gillon didn’t score until the second half where he put up 8 points—good for third best on the team.

The Orange now have to wait until Selection Sunday to hear if they will be included in the NCAA Tournament. ESPN lists Syracuse as a likely 11-seed, while CBS Sports predicts they will be one of the “first four out” of the tournament.
