Hopes are high for the 2016-17 Syracuse Men's Basketball Team.

By Zachary Allen SYRACUSE, N.Y. (NCC News) – Despite going to the Final Four last year for the first time in three years, the Syracuse Men’s Basketball team is poised to get back to that same stage again this season.

This is the team’s first full week of practice and Sophomore Manager C.B. Garrett likes what he sees.

I think we’re going to win a lot of games,” Garrett said. “It’s always hard to say you’re going to go to the Final Four. It’s kind of, as you saw last year, not necessarily based on the best record. But I think we’ll definitely win more games than last year.”

The Syracuse Men went 23-14 last year.

Garrett has not seen any concern thus far from the team on duplicating last year’s success though.

Any time you come off the Final Four, you’re going to have expectations,” Garrett said. “But with the amount of talent we have in this gym I think everyone is pushing each other at such a high level, it really brings everyone to another level.”

Cuse fans will be able to watch big games at home in the Carrier Dome this year, as Syracuse will host both Georgetown and Duke.

The Men’s team should be excited about their new schedule because as Garrett said, “Any time you’re at home in the Carrier Dome, it’s a great thing because the Carrier Dome provides such an advantage.”

The 2016-2017 Syracuse Men’s Basketball team will be introduced to fans at the Orange Madness Event in the Carrier Dome on Friday, October 21st. Fans will also get to watch last year’s team receive their Final Four rings.

If that is still not enough to be excited for the Orange’s upcoming season, here is a highlight video of Syracuse celebrating their win over the University of Virginia to advance to the Final Four.
